Welcome to Irondell Metal Works!
We have moved! Check out our new sculpture garden and art studio at 112 Mill Street/Hwy 62 South...
When Heather Inwood-Montrose opened Irondell Metal Works in 2005, little did she realize how fulfilling the venture would be! For the past 5 years Irondell has offered custom design and fabrication of welded metal products to the residents, visitors and cottagers of Bancroft & surrounding area, as well as to countless art shows & art gallery visitors across Ontario.
Heather grew up in Bancroft. After a number of years in Alberta & Manitoba training as a Red Seal Journeyman Welder she returned to open her business. Her experience in the aerospace industry honed her skills as an aluminum and stainless steel welder. She has built numerous interior and exterior iron gates and rails, and is garnering a reputation for creating large scale repurposed metal sculpture. Heather created the new “Bancroft” gateway signs and is also a member of the Bancroft & Area Studio Tour.
“I am so thankful for the positive community response to the energy & skills I offer! It is very rewarding to repair something a client needs or create & make real an individuals vision. Irondell has been able to grow due to community & client support & actively expresses appreciation by donating art and time.
2011 is a year of change for Irondell. Heather plans to focus on artistic endeavors by opening a studio and walking sculpture garden at her home & workshop at 112 Mill Street (Hwy 62 S). In the sculpture garden visitors are welcome to wander & enjoy a moment to ponder the unique installations with access via Heritage Trail. Parking on site. Weldergirl is most often found creating whimsical and thoughtful pieces sure to add interest to your day! Keep your eyes & ears open for what appears next.....
At Irondell, we appreciate the need for attention to the finest details in all projects. With this in mind, our commitment is to do our utmost to help turn our customer's vision into reality.

FAST FACT: The North American steel industry annually recycles millions of tons of steel scrap from recycled cans, automobiles, appliances, construction materials, and other steel products. The scrap is remelted to produce new steel. Every ton of steel recycled saves 2500 pounds of iron ore, 1400 pounds of coal, and 120 pounds of limestone. The industry's overall recycling rate is 68 percent!
